The Social
development and The City of Cape Town has to find a solution to uplift people
on the street and reintegrate them with their families and community.
According
to John Smith, he said he has been on the street for five years now no place to
go, no family and no friends. John Smith said he never had it in mind to on the
street, but he had no choice and nowhere to go to rather than the street.
According
to my research, the City of Cape Town said that the ideal of reintegrating
street people and uplifting them is often not realized, because they have lack
of opportunities to create a new life for themselves. But
without an adequate support, street people inevitably succumb to the difficult
realities of their new lives after reintegration and often end up back on the
street, well the aim of this country is to create opportunities for poor
people, and also to create opportunity for people who leave in the street, so
that they can leave the street permanently.
John
Smith who has been in the street for five years, said he has been moving from
street to street but later end up in observatory, and he has been on the street
of observatory for a year moving from street to street and begging for food to
eat, and he also said when is late at night he goes to the tree which is close
to Pick n pay and have a good night sleep.
Well
they are a lot of people in the street of Cape Town looking for a place to
sleep, and also looking for food to eat, and the government and community have
the means to help this people. Well the government and the community need to
find a way to help this people so our country can be a better place for me and
for you…
